Pastor Tim Willoughby was born and raised in Ohio and has been an ordained pastor in the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana) since 1979. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts from Anderson University, a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary, a Master of Science Degree in Family Life Education and Consultation from Kansas State University, and a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. Tim served as a Military policeman in the U.S. Army from 1970-1973. After graduating from Anderson University in 1976 Tim served as the senior pastor of the Park Forest Church of God in Ft. Wayne, Indiana until 1980. From 1980 to 1984 he attended Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky. He assisted numerous churches without pastors in the state of Kentucky by filling the pulpit until they could secure a pastor. During this time he served as the long time interim pastor for 1st Church of God in Lexington, Kentucky. In 1984 Pastor Willoughby felt a call from God to re-enter active duty military to serve in the United States Army as a chaplain. It was an opportunity to minister to soldiers and families in challenging situations. He served 30 years active Duty in the US Army until he retired as a Colonel in 2011. After retiring from the military Tim served as the Pastoral Counselor at Bayside Community Church of God, Safety Harbor, Florida from 2011 until 2017. He currently leads Bible studies at the church. Tim also served as an adjunct professor at Mid-America Christian University 2012-2020. Tim has been to all 50 States and 48 different countries. He has learned that there is no place like home. Tim married the former Jane Smith of Piqua, Ohio in 1973. The Willoughby’s have two children, James and Emily (deceased). They have four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Tim and Jane reside in Tarpon Springs, Florida but also live parttime in their home in Tipp City, Ohio. He is proud to be a cousin to Arrean Murphy!
